The government has rejected the widespread speculation about another National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). According to media reports, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan reviewed overall political situation in the country and discussed the opposition's criticism against the government. While responding to the members' questions with regard to any deal, Prime Minister Khan stated that no deal is going to take place with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). The Prime Minister directed the participants that the government's viewpoint on different issues must be taken to the people in an effective manner through media.

The meeting also reviewed the situation following the arrest of Senior Minister in Punjab government Abdul Aleem Khan. Those who attended the meeting included Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Communication Murad Saeed, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar, Firdos Ashiq Awan and others.
